Visa Information
Every person entering Barbados, including Canadian citizens, must have a valid passport and a valid return ticket.
If you are not a citizen of Barbados and you wish to work or study in Barbados, you must obtain the requisite visa to gain entry. Visitors to Barbados are prohibited from taking up employment without written permission of the Chief Immigration Officer, Barbados. Any person seeking to work must secure a Work Permit before entering Barbados.

How To Apply For A Visa
Complete Visa Application (Form "J") in duplicate (in English only). Submit original documents. Photocopies and Facsimiles are unacceptable.
The application form must be signed by the applicant only; or if the applicant is under sixteen years old, by his/her parent or guardian. |

Documents Required
You must submit a valid passport and evidence of return or onward flight. A travel agency's confirmation of return flight is acceptable in the absence of an airline ticket. In some cases a letter from the applicant's employer may be required.
Original documents must be submitted (e.g. passport, company letter, travel agency's confirmation letter of a return flight/ticket). Photocopies are not accepted.
Applicants retuirning to Canada should be exempt from requiring a visa to re-enter or have the relevant visa/endorsement in their passport, which permits such re-entry. Re-entry visas must be valid for the entire duration of the applicant's stay in Barbados. Those travelling onward from barbados to a country other than Canada should have the relevant entry exemption/visa for their onward destination.

Fees
A fee of $50.00 (Canadian dollars) is required for single entry and $70.00 for multiple entry. Please provide exact cash when submitting an application in person.

Processing Time
The Consulate will do its best to process visa applications within five (5) business days; however you should submit your application well in advance of your trip.
Mailing
Send your passport and supporting documents to the Consulate General of Barbados either by registered mail, courier or express mail.
If you would like to have the consulate return them by mail, you must enclose a self-addressed, prepaid envelope with your application. Please ensure that the self-addressed envelope is the appropriate size and contains the correct postage.
